Genesis Revisited

Is the human race the product of deliberate genetic manipulation performed by
an alien race from our own solar system? YES, says author Zechariah Sitchen who
bases his ideas on his research into the civilization of ancient Sumeria
Once you start reading in this genre, you’ll have to read a book by Zechariah Sitchen.
He is quoted by everyone else because he is one of the few to do original research.
Sitchen’s books are all about the ancient Sumerian civilization, the first known to
history. He has learned to read the ancient script and has translated a great many
old tablets and inscriptions from which he has developed a theory of history that
is unique to him (although borrowed by lots of the other writers). Basically,
he says the earth was visited by aliens about 200,000 years ago. They were
looking for gold which would somehow help restore the atmosphere on their planet.
They needed miners and found primitive hominids on earth and genetically altered
them to be smarter, using their own genes. The result was… us! An alien woman
called Ninhirsag was actually the “mother” of humanity. Sitchen has written about
these ideas in great detail in his series of books The Earth Chronicles.
These aliens, called Annunaki, are the “giants in the earth” mentioned in the Bible.
They come from the planet Nibiru (called Marduk by the Babylonians), which is part
of our solar system. It is an as-yet undiscovered planet and has a very elliptical orbit
that takes it way out far beyond Pluto. That’s why we don’t know about it. But, of course,
it’s coming back our way and the same characters will be coming with it because
they are either immortal or have very long life spans (their “year” of course
is extremely long -- 3600 of our years, so maybe their lifespan in years is about
the same as ours). you’ll learn the history of the solar system according to Sitchen,
including a version from ancient legends of how the earth itself was formed.
Sitchen’s books all tie events in ancient history to these aliens, who were the original
“gods” and who were the cause of the great flood of the Noah story. Sitchen does not seem
to believe in any spiritual dimension. These Annunaki are only called gods because of
their superior knowledge and mankind’s ignorance and because they were literally the
creators of our present human form. Although he also wrote a book
called Divine Encounters, Sitchen seems not to believe in anything
truly divine. His drama takes place only in this material world, without any
guidance as to our spiritual nature. His works do, however, have tremendous scope,
encompassing the entire solar system. His aliens have bases on Mars. They are
behind the failures of our space probes to Mars and the 1989 failure of a
Soviet-launched satellite called Phobos 2. This satellite was named for a real
Mars moonlet (Mars has two very small moons called Phobos and Diemos) and its
mission was to enter an orbit that shadowed the real Phobos, which it did in
January1989. However, the Soviets lost contact with their satellite right
after receiving some bizarre photos from it. One shows anomalous features
on the surface of Mars, strange geometric shapes that look artificial; the
other shows a shadow of something that must have been between the satellite
and Mars. Could it have been an alien space ship and could it have
destroyed Phobos 2? Sitchen thinks that’s exactly what happened.
Genesis Revisited combines Sitchen’s interpretation of the Sumerian
culture with his ideas on what NASA knows but isn’t telling us, including what
it knows about Mars and Phobos 2. He recounts the history of UFO sightings and
says the US government wants us to think it has lost interest in tracking UFOs
when it actually has a very big interest. In fact, NASA may be aware that the
moonlet of Mars called Phobos could be a space station for other intelligent beings.
One Soviets writer speculated that Phobos was an artificial satellite put in
orbit millions of years ago (or much more recently?). Sitchen leaves us with much
speculation that Mars and its tiny moon, Phobos, may already be in use by the
same Annunaki who launched the human race thousands of years ago.
Does planet Nibiru really exist? There are scientists who think there is another
planet, and they’ve called it for now “Planet X.” Sitchen calls it the “twelfth planet,”
using the Sumerian system of counting planets which includes our own moon and the sun.
Our planet earth, according to Sitchen’s interpretation of Sumerian legends,
was formed from an earlier planet called Tiamat which was broken up, and its
fragments form the asteroid belt. The whole theory is complicated and steeped
in ancient mysteries. There are also scientists (including Nobel Laureate
Sir Francis Crick) who believe life on earth originated from an extraterrestrial
source. However, considering the possibility that life in its simplest form may
have originated from outside earth is different from endorsing the existence of
an alien race from the planet Nibiru who performed genetic manipulation on the
primitive hominids to create the human race. But as long as there is no definitive
answer to how life came to be and how the human race originated, speculative ideas
are worth our consideration. Sitchen gives us much to think about.
While Sitchen’s ideas of alien presence on Mars, connected to a long-ago seeding
of planet earth, might seem far out, he is a good researcher and does have data
to back up what he says (although one can certainly question his interpretation
of some of the data). I respect him for having actual scholarship in the culture
of Sumeria. The book is full of drawings of Sumerian depictions of what look
like space ships. There are also many illustrations of Mars and Phobos.
My paperback copy suffers from poor editing. The illustrations all have only
numbered captions and you are forced to search through the text for references
so you know what the pictures are about. I have hand-written my own captions
under many of them in my copy. I wish publishers would NEVER do this! Please,
publishers, write real captions and put them under the picture.
The Sumerians knew their “gods” came from the sky and knew about vehicles that
soared above the earth. You will learn a great deal from his books, even if you
don’t agree with Sitchen’s interpretation of some of the material.
Genesis Revisited is a good book to begin with if you want to know
something of the ideas of Zechariah Sitchen. If you find it compelling, you
can get the rest of his books. They are all available in inexpensive paperback editions.
